As I take a step back and look at my life, I have realized that my priorities have really evolved through the years. There are many factors that can explain why my focus shifted. Factors, such as our surrounding environment, our future goals and dreams, and our perspective on life contribute to such changes. In addition, things–tangible or intangible–that were once important and had huge significance just became irrelevant, while many things that never crossed our minds or were insignificant become our main concern. These shifts can happen within a short or large time span. Hence, a single situation can divert our attention.
There are many situations that can drastically change your whole life. Situations such as a death of a significant other, birth of a newborn, financial burden are examples of such drastic changes. The key is to figure out which potential outcome will bring forth the most happiness in your life. With that in mind, you will be able to figure out your priorities and adapt accordingly.
There have been many times when a single event completely turned my life around. I would feel tired and uninspired as if my world had collapsed. I would have feelings of failure and regret in life. These are obstacles that require us to take a detour, except that there are no detour signs. It’s possible for each and every one of us to find our direction just as long as we know what we’re chasing after and we carry the strength to keep on moving. The game of life has no rules; you can make the best or worst of it depending on how you choose to handle these obstacles. I hope you are able to make the best of it!
